Title:  Weekend Report

Disclaimer:  Not mine.

A/N:  eviinsanemonkey  wanted Casey on a weekend.  This isn’t quite what I’d hope but still fits the bill.

Summary:  Rick’s had a good weekend and apparently he’s not the only one.

Rick comes into the office with a bounce in his step.  It’s all he can do to keep from whistling as he settles into his seat and boots up his computer.  As he’s merrily making his way through the login screen, he notices his team watching him.

“Something wrong?” Rick asks, still too chipper to be bothered by their critical looks.

They exchange looks.  “Someone just seems to be in an unusually good mood this morning,” Billy observes.

Rick shrugs.  “I had a good weekend,” he says.

Casey scoffs.  “Some time with your lady friend, then.”

Rick doesn’t deny it, doesn’t stop the smile from spreading wider across his face.

Billy’s eyes seem to twinkle.  “Do tell, do tell,” he says.  “Give us something to spice up this slow Monday morning.”

Rick rolls his eyes.  “We just had a nice time,” he says.  “That’s all.”

Billy hoots a bit.  Michael shakes his head.

Casey actually looks disgusted.  “That is the worst post-weekend story I’ve ever heard,” he says.

Rick stops what he’s doing to look at him.  “Maybe I just don’t like to kiss and tell,” he suggests.

“We don’t need to be told,” Casey reminds him.  “We already know.”

“And Monday mornings are so much better with a little good storytelling,” Billy adds.

For his part, Michael seems to go back to work.

Casey, however, shakes his head with disgust.  “And here I thought the kid understood the importance of not holding out on his team,” Casey gripes.

Rick sighs, sitting back.  “It wasn’t anything,” he insists.  “Just dinner and a movie.  Some good conversation and some wine.”

Billy smirks.  “And did you make her breakfast in the morning?”

Rick’s about to answer when he blushes instead.

Even Michael laughs this time.

“Okay, fine,” Rick says, more amused than annoyed but trying not to let it show.  “What did you all do this weekend?”

“I had some paperwork to finish,” Michael says.  “And I watched some baseball.”

“I am afraid to report that most of my weekend was spent between myself and my guitar and a good bottle of Scotch,” he says.  “And I may or may not have read a Shakespeare play in there, just to remind myself of the Motherland, but I’m a little hazy on the details.”

Rick nods, seemingly satisfied.  “And you, Casey?” he asks, looking at the older operative pointedly.

Casey pins him with a glare.  “Given your scarcity with details, I’m not sure I want to share.”

“Oh, come now,” Billy cajoles.  “He told us about the dinner.”

“What was it?” Casey asks.

“Italian,” Rick says.  “We ate out.”

“And the movie?” Casey asks next.

“Action movie,” Rick reports.  “Very unbelievable but we weren’t paying much attention anyway.”

Billy laughs, clapping a little.

Rick inclines his head, eyes still set on Casey.  “Your turn.”

Casey doesn’t flinch under Rick’s gaze.  Instead, he straightens a bit, his expression set.  “I spent time training,” he says.

Rick shrugs, unimpressed.  “Training for what?”

Exasperated, Casey’s expression turns baleful.  “For life, what do you think?”

“Yeah, but you did more than that,” Rick pushes.  “Come on, what else?”

Casey shakes his head.  “I’m not sure you’re ready to know.”

This time, Michael nods in agreement.  “Casey’s private life is something to be wary of,” he advises.

“It can be a scarring experience for those who are unprepared,” Billy interjects.

“Nah, that’s too easy,” Rick says.  “What did you really do?”

Casey steadies his gaze on Rick.  “After spending three hours in meditation, I spent the next five in various stages of intense exercise, ranging from tai chi to Pilates.  Afterward, I ran three miles and came home.  After cooking myself a meal devoid of preservatives and other poisonous elements, I visited the Smithsonian.”

“Oh,” Rick says, pleasantly surprised.  “For their new display on dinosaurs?”

Casey quirks his eyebrows.  “To test the security measures and map out possible weak points in case of terrorist attack,” he says.  “I’m displeased to say their security is noticeably sub par.  I filed my report on the matter with Higgins this morning.”

Rick blinks.

Casey seems ready to go back to work.  “Oh,” he says, remembering one last point.  “And I spent Sunday in bed with three particularly nice young women, gleaning some new insights regarding the mutual pleasures of sexual satisfaction.”

Rick blinks again.

Michael chuckles, head still buried in his work.

Billy shakes his head.  “Some things will never change,” he says in bemusement as he goes back to his paper.

Casey keeps his eyes on Rick.  “Any other questions?”

Rick shakes his head, trying to rid his mind of its newest mental picture.  “No,” he says, glad that he had a good weekend because at the rate this week is going, things are not looking like they’ll go his way.

All your talk of Danny Quinn makes me feel even more like I need to watch Primeval post Stephen and Nick.

(I really want some Billy whump. Honestly, I'm not too picky in that regard. So maybe to go with it, the quote "They have made worms' meat of me" to borrow from your Shakespeare streak :)

Danny Quinn won my heart so quickly, lol. He's adorable and funny and not trying to replace anybody and just wants to help because weird shit goes down.

If you do watch, I hope you like him, 'cause he's awesome :)

(hee :D)

We seem to have some similar tendencies when it comes to liking characters, so I'm sure I could. Gah, I just need to cope with my whole Nick and Stephen issue.

As with many other tv-series I've watched, I wanted to jump in and bash their heads together. And it was so painful to watch Stephen sacrifice himself.
(And no, I did not start to watch Primeval because of James Murray ...)

Yeah, those two really needed to be forced to work out their issues because it didn't have to be that way between them. And ultimately, if they had just talked it through when it first came out, they could have avoided so much of the tragedy that was to come.

(And LOL, I did! And I'm okay with that :)

Now I need a crossover with Bones, where Booth discovers Casey sneaking around :)

If I knew enough about Bones to write a fic, I'd oblige you, but I've only seen bits and pieces :)

I may have to write this.

Or, if not Booth, then Bones because Bones finding Casey would be hilarious (OMG THEY'D GET ALONG SO WELL, IT'D BE HORRIFYING!)

Oh please do. The thought of Bones and Casey together is a bit scary, but it surely would be hilarious to read

I'll see what I can do. I haven't written Bones fic in awhile, but I'm sure I can come up with something :)

Yeah, it's not a mental picture I relish either :)
